What is the best way to introduce my new Southern Baptist preacher boyfriend to my Jewish grandfather?

This is a great question. I am so glad you asked it Becky.  I understand your apprehension. As an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister for over 25 years, I could speak for myself on how I would respond. I would be honored to meet your grandfather. I would love the fact that you respected me enough to introduce to me someone so special in your life.

I would not worry or stress about it. I am sure your new boyfriend would also look forward to meeting him. I am also confident that your grandfather would love to meet someone who is special in your life as well.

Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Hello, you might be surprise how many values in common most religions have.
Maybe having a conversation with your Grandfather about the values that Judaism holds and ask the same question about Baptist to your boyfriend, once you get to see that there are common values, it'll be easier to talk to your Grandfather about your boyfriend whom you share common values and that happens to be a Baptist.

Hope this helps, Mariana.

I also introduced my boyfriend (now husband) to my grandparent (my grandmother) and it went surprisingly well.

For me, grandparents being removed more from their grandchildren's lives gives them a little distance from the issue, and they can take it surprisingly well.

What is your grandfather like? My grandma is pretty religious and we asked her if she would come to our wedding, which she did and loved, so their reaction can be unpredictable.

I wold say you should be open and honest and lead with love and it should work out.

If you want to talk more about this, I'd be happy to.
